To all Senior Players

I hope you are all keeping safe and well. I am very pleased to say that we finally have the green light for Club Rugby to resume from the 29th March. The Rugby Season has also been extended through May and some of the restrictions that normally apply over the summer months have been suspended this year to help Clubs recover the lost time and to get ready, (we all hope), for a normal Season in September.

Return to Rugby 2021:

1. Senior training will resume on Tuesday 30th March at 7.30-9pm and will then run Tuesday and Thursday until Thursday 27th May. The sessions will start on the floodlit training field and as pre-lockdown, Tuesdays will be for all but geared towards the first and second team squads, Thursdays will also do this but with a separate session run for the 3rd Team squad.
2. Since this year we are crossing over with the Cricket section more than usual it is essential we work with cricket to manage parking and site capacity.
3. We intend to continue through May (the RFU encouraged Season Extension Period), and book friendly fixtures in this period as the rules allow.

The Rugby Season this year "ends" on the 31st May, we intend to have a total rugby break in June and pre-season training will take place from Tuesday 1st July continuing through to the start of the season.

Please note that during April and May, we will not be able to offer any catering and the Rule of 6 will still apply so please bring your own food, water or other refreshments. We also require all players training to bring a dark and light top as mixing bibs is not allowed.

The long-delayed 50th Datchworth Birthday Party (Dinner and Dance) has been rescheduled for Saturday, October 23rd, 2021 (at Tewin Bury Farm), if you already have a ticket for this event you don’t need to take any action if you haven’t some tickets are still available.
