The u 14’s enjoyed the second friendly of the season against a mixed Cheshunt side.
Cheshunt won the match in the final play of a 4 quartered match with a try from a short range effort making the score 17 – 22. Datchworth were short of 4 players including George Little who was away with the county squad, giving plenty of opportunity to other players to try some new positions and the team worked very hard and were competitive for the whole game with tries from Samuel Elvery, Dean Carmicheal, and James Hunter.
Special mention goes to Dominic Negri, aka Spiderman, for an outstanding game at number eight for the first time and thanks to Adrian Finn who volunteered to referee the match.
Next week the u14’s travel to Bank of England by coach for the first league match of the season, the scene of a hard fought win last year.
