The Under 14s travelled to Enfield Ignations and in a tight game were eventually beaten 27– 22.
The home side went in front with one of their powerful props going over following a scrum conceded directly from the kick off. Datchworth fought back when George Little took a quick penalty and found Theo Wise who took the ball at speed went between two defenders and raced in to score.
Datchworth tackled well against a powerful side, keeping a good defensive shape, however they were unable to stop a strong carrying Enfield number eight. Tries from Dominic Negri and two from the outstanding Samuel Elvery kept Datchworth in touch and they briefly led but Ignations scored the last try to win a good game played in great spirit.
Man of the match was Christopher Saunders who put in a huge defensive effort making a number of tackles and the 'Champagne' moment was awarded to Alex Dean who continues to improve, chasing down a clear break from Ignations flying winger and making a good tackle, unbeknown to him the whistle had sounded long before the tackle was made!
