The u14’s hosted Finchley for a friendly and went down 5- 22 against the visitors who are in the league above Datchworth.
In very windy conditions Finchley carried the ball strongly using their larger forwards and were able to capitalise on some missed tackles taking a two try lead. Datchworth who were missing a couple of players worked very hard against the wind and were able to score through the ever dangerous Theo Wise, other opportunities were created but the home team were unable to close the gap in the final minutes.
Another outstanding performance was capped with the Man of the Match award for Dominic Negri, and Christopher Saunders earned the Champagne moment votes for a half field chase back, tackle, turnover and then touch finding kick to save a certain try.
