The u14’s were away to league 3 Finchley and were beaten 27 – 0.
Against the better Finchley side who were worthy winners the scoreline doesn’t reflect the effort and skill the Datchworth team put in and a couple of scores would have been a fairer reflection of the balance of play.
Arron King winning his first man of the match award worked tirelessly making tackle after tackle and Christopher Saunders earned the Champagne moment for an outstanding tackle defending his own line, James Hunter then getting over the ball earning a penalty.
Dominic Negri again showed his skill and growing presence winning lineouts and creating attacking chances and pulling off try saving tackles, Theo was Theo ,always threatening and Ethan Batty showed plenty of skill and some fierce determination at scrum half putting in one of his best performances since the u 7’s.
Next Sunday the u14’s sign off their league campaign with a home game against Hertford B.
