Datch u14s v Harpenden B - 11/12/2016 – Won 48-0

This was quite a send-off for Paddy as Datch scored 8 tries in his last game. Paddy scored the first try , kicked the last conversion and in between put in numerous trademark tackles. He will be missed !

Special thanks to the Harpenden players who volunteered to play for us , one of whom scored 2 tries !

This was a perfect day for running rugby and Datch did not disappoint , Finn capped a fine performance with a hat trick of tries , running the length of pitch to show his blistering pace !

Datch were keen to run the ball at every opportunity , with Nick and Brandon linking well to get the ball moving wide.

Olly T and Ollie' B also linked well in defense and attack , helping release attack after attack. Ollie B scoring a nicely taken try.

The back three of Finn , Harry and Angus got involved in numerous attacks and carried the ball well all game.

Elliot also capped a fine performance by completing the scoring with a fine team try. Angus kicked 3 conversions. The scrum was strong all day and although the ruck area needs some work , we did enough to retain possession to allow the attacks to continue.

Summary

Datch should take heart from a strong performance where they played some good running rugby. Plenty to work on but this was a really encouraging day at the office as we started to defend as team and showed what we are capable of with a our well taken tries.

A deserved Man of the Match went to Paddy who had an outstanding last game for Datch !
