Datch u14s v Watford - 15/01/2017 – Won 32-5
The weather was not ideal for running Rugby (wet and cold) but Datch moved the ball wide from the off and managed to score some well taken tries.
They were able led by Olly T who ran strongly all game and was a constant threat all day. He capped a fine performance with a superb try.
Ollie B showed us his pace and crossed for 2 tries. Finn showed his pace to cross and in better conditions would surely have had a hat trick.
Angus added 1 conversion but he carried the ball back to the oppo strongly and his handling and positional play was excellent.
The forwards laid the foundation for this win , Oscar was outstanding and scored a super try.
Ben and Kieran were all over the park and made live difficult for Watford. Rhys completed the scoring showing pace.
Nick and Brandon linked well all day and Elliot ran strongly to help us launch attack after attack.
Summary
As a team we defended strongly today and we are starting to defend as as team rather than individuals. Man of the match went to Olly Tatlow for a cracking game , a well taken try , some super steals and a lovely break from the lineout for a 40 yard run !
Special thanks to the oppo players who played for us as well.
