Having conceded an early try, Datchworth hit back immediately with a pinpoint penalty kick by inside centre Sam Brunton. Brunton then slotted another penalty to give the villagers the lead, only for West London to catch Datchworth on the break, but again missed the conversion - 10 - 6 to West London.
It was then time for the move of the match - from some great work from the Datchworth pack, Henry Mountain broke in centre field, offloaded to Sam McBroom who then release Brunton who in turn carved the West London defence apart. One on one with the full back, Brunton drew the man, popped to winger Joe Richardson who finished aptly in the corner. Brunton missed the conversation - 11-10 Datch.
Approaching half time, the visitors managed to pierce the Datchworth defence giving them the half time lead and favourable conditions for the second half playing down the hill.
Datchworth failed to resist West London in the second half, a devastating break straight after half time, followed by a quick fire second try saw the visitors extend their lead.
Though Datchworth piled on the pressure, they were too often let down by the final pass, something West London took advantage of and scored following a knock on. Although their were some strong individual performances in defence from Datchworth, namely James Watt who managed to play most of the game with a broken nose, it was not to be and the final result ended 36-11 to West London.
