On a high following their strong initial victory against the Medics last week, Datchworth found themselves away again in what proved to be a much sterner test. Datchworth held possession in the first ten minutes however a dropped pass in the opponents 22 led to a speedy break away try. Twickenham were majestic with ball in hand and soon followed their initial try with a second break away try. For Datchworth's early possession the scoreboard said otherwise and after an exchanging of penalties and third Twickenham try Datchworth went into the break 20 - 3 down.
The Green's came out fighting hard in the second half but it wasn't to be. Twickenham excelled at the breakdown area often turning Datchworth over and made their possessions count. Not helped by a series of injuries, Datchworth soon found themselves two further tries down and despite an excellent set piece, struggled to get over the host's line. Impressive defensive work from Joe Richardson in particular helped Datchworth regain some momentum in the match which led to their second penalty, although it wasn't to be and Twickenham ran out deserved winners.
Next week will see Datchworth's first home league match of the season against high flying Old Priorians.
