The U14 / 15 Squad hosted a triple header this weekend with RC Wageningen, (Touring from Holland) and slightly more locally Pinford (Touring from Pinner and Watford)! With the hot conditions and several games to play the warmup was a little less intense than we would normally
go-for. The Coaches were a bit worried that the boys would be undercooked… but we didn’t need to worry…

In the first game Datchworth played Pinford; we won 26-21 (our Try scorers were Ted, Ilan, Felix and Chi with Sam H hitting 3 out of 4 conversions). It was a very competitive game, and we went into the final couple of minutes down. The boys played fast paced, fluid rugby and everyone made a strong contribution.

In our second game we played the U14 players from RC Wageningen, we won 54 – 28, (our Try scorers were Benji x 2 / Oli P x 2 / Jamie / Henry / Stefan / Edward with Tom hitting 7 out of 8 conversions). This was another good game were we worked to keep a competitive game with our visitors.

In our third game we played the U15 / U16 players from RC Wageningen (supported by some boys from Pinford), we won 38 -7, (our Try scorers were Henry X 2 / Benji X 2 / Oli P / Tyler with Sam H getting 4 of the conversions).

In addition Pinford played RC Wageningen with Pinford winning 31 – 14.
All of the games were played in good spirit and were competitive. Our U14/15 squad continue to grow and improve. There were several outstanding contributions today. Chi was fantastic at full back and saved at least three tries. Ted, Tommy and Harry were all a handful carrying the ball forward with strength and aggression. Oli P showed great running lines and strength and had a strong morning. Benji was at his best both in the tackle and running in the loose. We could easily name the whole squad today as the platform was set by the whole team allowing some of the players highlighted above to impose themselves on the game.
