On Sunday the u17 squad made it three promotions in 3 seasons by beating Barnet 24 – 0 to top the league and gain promotion to Division 1 next season.

On a windy morning Barnet playing against the elements put Datchworth under pressure with a committed pack keeping hold of the ball.

However it was Datchworth who broke the deadlock with Owen MacGillivray going over and Ben Palmer adding the extras.The score stayed at 7-0 which did not reflect the advantage the wind was giving. However against the elements Datchworth started to gain a stronger foothold, strong carrying from Connor Harris, Ben Hackett, Sam Hargrove and Dean Carmichael very much keeping Datchworth in control and it was Carmichael who added another score before further tries for MacGillivary and Alex Lloyd-Williams to finish a very hard fought game with Datchworth 24 -0 winners.

Next week the u17’s travel to Albanians for a County Cup semi final.
