On a cold windy morning we were able to field two teams of equal ability and played 4 games before making up 2 fresh teams for a further game each.
The result of these games were:
13-0, 10-1, 8-4, 7-2, 12-2, 5-0
A convincing 6-0 win for the mighty Datchworth!!
It is impossible to single out any individual player for recognition because everyone upped their game putting in a magnificent performance. Particularly pleasing for your coaching staff is the obvious improvement in our discipline around the defensive line. This ability to reset ourselves, leaving no gaps, and pushing the opponent back and forcing error after error reaped numerous tries. An area for improvement, however, would be ensuring we try and tackle lower!
However, the funniest moment all weekend has to be the immediate medical assistance George Parry provided to an injured team mate. With no regard for his own safety he rushed over, barging bystanders out of the way, before rolling the player over and immediately commencing chest compressions for a suspected heart attack. This was totally successful and allowed the player to fully recover from his ankle injury!!
