Datchworth RFC U9's back to winning ways - Mostly!

We were warmly welcomed by our local friends Cheshunt RFC and a new youth team from Bancroft RFC near Loughton!

Our hosts requested that we not tier our two teams but make up two similar skilled squads.

T1 = Conor V, Sidney, Barney, Jude, Flynn, Ieuan, Billy, Declan, Hein Og, Joseph Burke, and Luke.

T2 = Carter, William H, Finlay, Sebastian, Cameron, George, Charlie P, Harry, and Connor S.

T1's results were: 14-3 victory against Bancroft. 1-7 defeat against C2, and 0-4 defeat against C1.

T2's results were: 5-2 victory against C1. 5-2 victory against C2 and for the game verses Bancroft James Parsons quickly withdrew a player to give them a fighting chance but we came away victorious with a 7-3 win...

Overall we should be pleased with our performance there were numerous great examples of strong tackling forcing turn over after turn over. Sebastian and George were particularly strong for T2. The results could have been much better though if we decided to pass the ball to our supporting players before the tackle was completed!! All the coaches commented on solo run after solo run with very few of you looking around for your team mates to off-load to. They were there and in some cases [Ieuan} screaming for it in space. We are going to be heavily punished against stronger teams who can off-load and keep the ball alive and the tackle counts low.
