The Under 15s started the league season in fine form recording a 48 – 7 win away at Bishops Stortford B.
Datchworth displayed good commitment in defence with the only breach coming in the last play of the game by which time the bonus point win was already secure, TJ Woods again made his crucial tackles at Fullback on the few occasions Stortford managed to break through the Green line.
The performance of the forward pack was outstanding with Dean Carmichael and Samuel Elvery giving their heavier opponents a tough time and their front row colleague Aaron Livingstone capping an outstanding day with a try that no prop should score outpacing the cover defence on the outside and scoring under the posts.
The Datchworth lineout again won good clean ball but in open play and picking up from the base of the scrum Dominic Negri again impressed and ran in two tries from the halfway line which put Datchworth on top in the first half.
Theo Wise got his chances and raced away to score under the posts and further tries were scored by Ethan Batty, Christopher Saunders and Charlie Fullbrook, having his best outing since returning back to the club.
