The U15’s kept up their impressive form running out 12 – 39 winners against their League 3 hosts Finchley.
On a fine but blustery morning the match started badly for Datchworth who struggled to find any continuity with the Finchley backs pressing very hard and moving the ball well to go into half time with a 12- 5 lead.
In the forwards the size of the Finchley pack had to be countered and again the Datchworth forwards rose to the challenge to keep their gains to a minimum. However the Datchworth response to the disappointing performance in the first half was soon put right as Datchworth upped the pace, retained possession and moved the ball well.
Fine team efforts were rounded off by Dominic Lant again proving a clinical finisher with 2, and TJ woods. This team work was also rewarded with some tries scored from distance with Christopher Saunders, Theo Wise, Dominic Negri and George Little outpacing the opposition in the broken field to score memorable tries and James Hunter adding 2 conversions.
Next week the U15’s travel to Hertford to finish off the league season.
