A superb effort from a depleted Green Army today, against a dogged and determine Kilburn team. Due to Remembrance Sunday Commemorations, we agreed to play a 14-a-side game, dropping 1 wing forward, and playing a new one, Louie, to see how it would go.

Datchworth controlled the game from the start, keeping Kilburn in their own half for the first 20 mins. Kilburns defence, and a few knock-ons, meant that we were unable to make the most of our territorial advantage. As last season, Kilburn's 7 and 8 asked several questions, but Datchworth were able to just about contain the Kilburn threat.

Eventually, Dachworth were able to cross the Kilburn line, and withheld a determined fight back, twice holding Kilburn up over our line. Half-time came with Datchworth 7-0 to the good.

The Green army started the second half in determined mood, and quickly got on the scoreboard, to put more pressure on the opposition. To their credit, Kilburn fought back, and managed to score a quick try, due to some slow Datchworth reactions.

Datchworth did not give in, and kept control of the game for the rest of the half, scoring two more tries, including our try of the season so far, and earning a hard fought victory over the only team to beat us in the pool last season. A great all round team effort with every single player making a contribution both with ball in hand and tackling.

Man of the Match was Matthew, for all round contribution and game mangement.

Dick of the Day would have been Harry Percy, for contesting a Kilburn line-out, knocking the ball on, not being spotted and setting up our final try. However, as he had to go quickly and missed the presentation, Harry Philips was nominated for eeking out his finger injury and not knowing how to indicate, as a touch judge, whose lineout it was!!
