The first half was a try fest for the lads in green, with Josh Staddon and Thomas Paine each grabbing a brace each, and Will Field, Will Goff, Connor Bridge and Connor Attoe getting on the scoreboard too. In return Harrow were only able to get one past us, as once again our defence was strong, although to be fair we spent a lot of time in attack with some good possession. The boys were fired up from the start, and managed to put some nice phases of play together.

Leading 8 tries to 1 in the first half, we mixed things up in the second half to give some lads some game time in some different positions. As we head into the U14’s and increase to the 15-a-side game, this was a good opportunity to let them try some different things and become familiar with new roles. Freddy for example did another fine job as Scrum Half coming in from the wing, and distributed the ball well. All the attacking play in the first half took its toll in the second half though, as Datch were pretty exhausted just as Harrow got their second wind. We fell off tackles and followed the ball too much with the result that we were out of position when they spread the ball wide. Harrow put in a spirited fightback scoring five tries against us, but the gap we built in the first half followed by another try from Connor Bridge and another from Josh Staddon giving him his hat trick on the day meant it was too big a hill to climb, and Datchworth took the win 50 points to 30.

Man of the match went to Connor Attoe for his attacking play from deep. It can be pretty lonely at Full Back, so it was great that he got the recognition today - well done Connor.
